Its Copeland two-stage scroll compressor uses chlorine-free R-410A refrigerant and includes overload protection. Peak cooling performance can be expected to last for years, as the compressor is designed with fewer moving parts than reciprocating compressors.
The HERS-tested heat pump is built for quiet operation. A sound control top on its heavy-gauge galvanized steel enclosure reduces noise, while a baked enamel finish protects the unit from the elements. A sound control blanket has been specially engineered to reduce noise levels from heat pump components, while a high-capacity muffler is also included. Thanks to time-delay SmartShift™ Technology, transitions to defrost mode are smooth and quiet. At the same time, indoor comfort is easily adapted with continuous monitoring provided by ComfortBridge Technology.
In addition, the ASZC18 is protected on many levels. A factory-installed bi-flow liquid line filter drier keeps dirt and moisture out of the refrigerant system, extending service life, while smart diagnostics constantly monitor performance.
